Fish tacos

Since I moved to Canada I’ve run into the phenomenon of fish-tacos a bunch of times, and I love it! (for example, see my post on what I ate in Colorado). So lately I’ve been trying to do my own interpretation of fish-tacos. This is what went into this weekend’s Sunday lunch after a long bike ride.


  • 1 filet of cod
  • juice of a 1/4 lime
  • paprika
  • salt & pepper

Fry it all at a medium heat in some butter until it’s cooked through and has a little bit of a golden surface.


  • 2 avocados
  • 1 spoon of sambal oelek
  • ground coriander
  • 2 cloves of garlic (pressed)
  • salt
  • juice of a 1/4 lime


  • salad leaves
  • corn kernels
  • 1 finely chopped shallot
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • salsa
Place it all on small “taco-tortillas” and fold as you eat.

 Of course you can also stuff them with anything else that you enjoy in a taco :)

It doesn’t take long to cook and tastes a bit more like spring than the traditional meaty taco-style. Perfect for a springtime lunch!
